How to choose a smartphone with good battery life

Do you hate it when your smartphone runs out of power during the day? Do you get tired of carrying around a charger with you everywhere?

Well you can avoid this struggle by choosing a smartphone with long battery life. This will ensure you continue enjoying using your smartphone for longer. But how do you determine which smartphone has a longer battery life.

How do you measure battery life?
Every smartphone, powerbank or smartwatch has a value indicated in the features of the smartphone r on the battery. This value can be used to estimate how long a battery can last n a single charge. This important value is mAh: milliampere hour. It is a measure of the total electric charge a battery can store.

You can also find the mAh value on the individual phone listing on the online store. However, you have to look at the detailed features since it is not prominently displayed.

In Jumia for example, you can find the battery capacity in the product details segment.

I have selected some few examples below to illustrate my point.

[Table][phone] [mAh rating]
Tecno camon CX Air 3200mAh
Infinix S2 Pro 3000mAh
LG K8 2125 mAh
Tecno S1 1500mAh

A general rule is: the higher the mAh value, the more the battery capacity therefore the phone can run more hours without being recharged.

So based on our example above, Tecno camon CX Air (3200mAh) will run for more hours as compared to LG K8 (2125mAh).

On a full charge phones with:
1500-2500 mAh can run for about 6-12 hours of heavy use.
2600-3200 mAh can run for about 10-16 hours of heavy use.
3000-4500 mAh can run for about 14-24 hours of heavy use.

Infact phones with mAh value of 3000-5000mAh can run for a whole day.

Next time you are buying a smartphone with long battery life, you know what to look for.
